My Example of Custom Arcade Style Joystick - The problems.
The main problem was that on the left side of my joystick I have hacked
PSX pad and KE24 connected, so to play with the playstation,
I had to play with the PSX and the KE24
power on. So with my computer power on.
A good solution that Andy from Arcade Solutions gives to me, is to put
a switch to share a printer for PC between the controls and the 2 encoders.
Yes, it's great ! Now, I can choose to play PC or PSX, without any conflicts.
And, I can play PSX on side one, and at the same time, I can play PC, on the
right side. ;-)
- I used a classic switch to share a printer between PCs, I put off
the steel parts, I only kept the switch :
Two positions on this switch, 'A' for PC encoder and 'B' for PSX use. So I had to connect
three DB25, one on the SCSI connector to the KE24 encoder, one to the hacked PSX pad and
the last one to the microswitches of the buttons and the joystick.
- I made a hole to integrate this switch.
